Tasks for chicks Brooding Management
chicks brooding management tasks are divided into two categories, before and after the arrival of the chicks. the first 24 hours, the following activities should be done carefully
Item To Be Placed
All necessary items such as litter, paper, chick guard, water, hover, food container should be placed in the proper place three hours in advance.
Turn on the hover lights two to three hours in advance and check the thermometer readings an hour later. Normally, set the lights according to the weather. For instance, 1watt/chicks are enough to summer or hot season and 2-3 watt/ chicks for the winter season.
Half an hour before the baby arrives, lightly placed the paper around and inside the brooder with a probiotic or without soluble in water.
The baby should be placed in the proper place for 5 minutes before the baby arrives. Try to place the broader area in the middle of the shed.
Day-old chicks care
After the baby arrives, put the baby on the farm before placing the hoover with the box for about 5 minutes.
Chicks weight measurement
Then weigh each box with the baby and record in the box with the box number followed by the removal of the empty box weight and you will gain the weight of the baby one day.
Chicks transfer to the brooder
After that, release the baby in each brooder and monitor the baby’s condition (if you want to be vaccinated, vaccinate it in the eye).
Separate if the baby is weak, and feed the glucose into the water. Other disease conditions like a pesty vent, paradise, closed eye, dehydrated chicks, etc.
If the baby is strong, give only distilled white water for the first two hours. If the baby is weak, give him glucose water.
After the baby arrives for 5 minutes, he will only sprinkle it on paper for the first time and after that, he will definitely serve food in the tray.
Checks brooding temperature
Examine at least 1% of the baby’s crop after one hour and see if there are mild soft foods and water mounds. Place the baby’s foot on your face to see if the footpad is hot. If so, you understand that baby brooding is going well.
After two hours you can give glucose water, white water will continue (but must be free of life). This will continue for the next 22 hours.
The baby’s condition should be monitored for 3 hours continuously whether the heat is too high. If there is a problem, it has to be resolved and if the baby is dead, remove it. If the water is finished, you should give water. If the paper gets wet, you have to change it.
After 24 hours, remove the paper completely. Supply the dried husk or other poultry litter materials. open the curtain and let outgas. if the past 24 hours, but still not change the paper, the chocks catch the coccidiosis.
