Coccidiosis
Coccidiosis is a protozoan disease which is caused by Emeria spp in poultry. Its very important disease that are more relationship with economy.
There are nine Emeria spp in poultry which causing disease defferent location of intestine in poultry.
It is normal inhabitant at intestinal tract of poultry. Its have complex life cycle that are happens in blood that why its also called piroplasm.
Emeria spp infection occurred at any age of poultry between 01-180 days in poultry.
Its vary rare see coccidiosis found in early ages of chicks due to life cycle of Emeria spp not complete before 14 days.
But if parents stocks fail immune against coccidiosis, there are horizontal transmission possible to chicks.
Its the main reason coccidiosis occurred at 01-14 days in the field.
Now take a look clinical signs & popstmortem findings that are collected from 04 days broiler chicks.
Clinical signs differentiate by absence of bloody stool from adult birds. Emeria tenella causing bloody stool in coccidiosis. its spirocyst needs external external environment to complete their life cycle at least 6 days.
