Fowl Typhoid
Fowl typhoid is a highly septicemic bacterial disease which caused by salmonella gallinerum in young chicks. Its host specific & causing high mortality in young poultry.
General Feature of salmonella gallinerum
Its member of the family of Enterobacteriace which highly adaptive to host
The organism are gram negative, non sporogenic, non motile & facultative anaerobic
The bacteria are slender rods measuring approximately .9-1.0 pm-2.5 µm in length and .28-0.3 pm-1.5 µm in width.
Susceptible Ages
All ages are Susceptible to salmonella gallinerum in poultry. Mostly others species such as turkey, quail, ducks are also susceptible.
there are confusion about age of susceptibility in different literature & writer also. some auther suggested that fowl typhoid only disease of adult birds specially laying henT
But its occurred at any ages at field condition. horizontal transform to parents to chicks from infected parents stock. Others possible way to transmit to chicks by contaminated eggs
