Low Pathogenic Avian Influenza

Low pathogenic Avian Influenza(LPAI) is a viral disease of poultry which is caused by Avian influenza virus A under the family of Orthomyxoviridae.

There are many sub types of avian influnza virus but LPAI just only one amoung others.

Avian influenza refers to the disease caused by infection with avian (birdinfluenza (flu) Type A viruses in poultry. its also known Bird Flu & in earlier called Fowl Plaque.

Postmortem findings are species to species but not same all birds, mortality also varies birds to birds like, large number of broiler birds can be died just in few days but not exceed 10% in laying hen.
